Bubble Brain
I had a concept rattling around in my head of a brain and the ideas it holds as bubbles. I also love playing around in Illustrator, so I challenged myself to put my concept to a tangible image. Each bubble holds a thought, some larger and more present than others, but all are there to form the brain. Note- The images used are from various stock image sites and some copyrighted material, but this was a personal educational project and not for profit.

It started with a vision in my head that ideas are like bubbles. They form, float, and dissapear. After trying to doodle this I found that I actually had no idea how bubbles actually cluster. To the internet!
UC Berkley researchers did a really facinating simulation to showcase the mathematics behind bubble clusters. Armed with new knowledge, I decided to make a mock-up in SketchUp.
I was able to see the intersections easier and could then outline the parts I wanted.
From there I took a jpg image into Illustrator to trace and create the bubbles.
Lastly, I scoured FreeImages for some images that could be thoughts in someone's head.
